Cosplay Critters Tee Shirt Designs - Available Soon!

I've been working on a series of illustrations that I call "Cosplay Critters."  Ferret Joe, my fuzzy character, loves pop culture and all things comics.  Towards that end, I've been drawing him as various superheroes and television characters.  Some time ago, I came up with the "Doctors of Galliferret" series (I have another Doctor to add), and I've become a big fan of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.  Here are a couple of simple designs, done in Illustrator, that will be white ink on a black shirt.  I hope you see something you like.  Order information coming soon.

 Above, you'll see Aunt May's favorite nephew in his extracurricular uniform. Your spider-sense will tingle when you see how nice this design looks on you!

 Next comes the new King of Wakanda.  Maybe the people of a highly advanced, yet secretive, society will mistake you for T'Challah when you wear this tee!

Finally, there are times when bright red, white, and blue just aren't the colors you're going for.  To keep a lower profile, wear the Captain's stealth suit inspired tee!

Caricatures of the political world

I've been getting into drawing a lot of caricatures lately, mostly because I started watching Court Jones' videos on Stan Prokopenko's YouTube channel.  I've always been a fan of the artform since discovering MAD Magazine as a kid, and I've churned a number of them out over the years.  I even spent one summer drawing them in Liberty Square at Disney's Magic Kingdom.  Not the ideal job, but I grew much more comfortable drawing in front of crowds.

Here's a couple of loose sketches of some of our more questionable world leaders.

Vanity

One of the recurring themes of Disney Villainy is vanity.  It isn't exclusive to the female villains, either, as Gaston has proven.  In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Disney's first animated feature, Snow White's stepmother is obsessed with being the most beautiful in the land and becomes murderously jealous when Snow begins to mature into a woman lovelier than she.  Ironically, the Queen sacrifices the very beauty she cherished in an effort to poison her rival.  In this image, I present the cold, arrogant beauty of the Queen in contrast with her magical disguise.

Today, I shall start anew.

Things have changed in so many ways since I last shared art on this blog.  I tend to post my quick sketches on Instagram, but it is hard to really say much about each piece while trying to think of the right hashtags to generate more interest.  I started a Disney Villains series I'm going to share here.  I haven't been going chronologically, but by the end, I will have every primary bad guy or gal from every animated feature from Disney and Pixar. I may do a second run with villainous sidekicks later.

Today, I'll start with Gaston, from Beauty and the Beast. Self-assured and arrogant, he's the typical small town bully who can't wrap his little mind around the fact that not everyone believes he's as cool as he thinks he is.
